Business Strategy: Stocking Up the Right Way

For a production process to run smoothly, having the right quantity at hand is a must. Whether it takes place in one's kitchen or in a factory, having control over your inventory is an assurance that production is efficient and costs are kept at a minimum.
Proper inventory control happens when there is optimal procurement, care, and disposition of the right materials which are required for the manufacturer or distributor. The output of inventory control manifests itself in the proper maintenance of stock that is in line with the market demand and sales trends. It is able to reduce carrying and holding costs as well as improve the stock turnover rates. Furthermore, a business' reputation can be solidified by having adequate merchandise on stock all the time.

For better control of inventory, here are five steps that help make the process simpler and may contribute to the overall success of a business.

1. Plan the inventory. Efficient inventory control begins with a well-organized and structured plan. The movement of new goods should be organized and must have a well thought out schedule. For instance, stocks that have been on-shelf for several months should be replaced as soon as possible. In the same way, shelves should not look empty as much as possible. It is recommended to use free inventory control software to make things easier.

2. Order cycles must be established. A regular ordering pattern should be established especially when the demand for the products can be predicted with a relatively low margin of error. When preparing the order, the costs must be considered. The aggregate shipping cost and other related fees must be included when setting up the order cycle. Not only will this help minimize expenses, it also creates a tailored system that suits the business' most pressing needs.

3. Stock levels should be balanced. Trade-offs between cost and material availability must be determined to come up with an optimized inventory level. The inventory is said to be optimized when it does not result in excessive carrying costs but is able to satisfy the market demand.

4. Make the merchandise accessible. Good inventory control is defined by keeping the inventory up to date and avoiding those that are obsolete. Instead of holding on to the merchandise that don't sell or move, it is better to mark down their prices.

5. Make sure to follow up on the inventory. Checking the figures and reviewing the items being sold will help in correcting disposal decisions, replacements, and the possible discontinuation of some SKUs.
For an organization to run smoothly, the inventory control must be efficient in a way that the managers and the employees both understand the flow or the entire process. For an inventory management system to work and to minimize costs, one must make sure that there is just enough supply of the right materials at the right time.

How to Find Translation Jobs Online

A lot of people and a lot of companies are always looking for translators. If you know where to look, you can find a lot of translation jobs online. Let me tell you three places you can look for these jobs online.

Translator Sites

Translator sites are sites providing services just for translators, translating agencies, and others looking for translators. These sites give community support to you as a translator. You can get translation help with difficult phrases and you can find work through these sites as well. Here are two translator sites that are worth checking out:
proz.com
translatorscafe.com
These sites are worth joining even if you don't find work through these sites as they provide you with valuable translation support, help, and services. The site proz.com does offer a paid subscription to access special parts of the site.

Freelance Sites

Some translators work for several different companies and/or individuals. These translators work as independent contractors or freelancers. They are essentially running their own translation business. As freelancers and independent contractors, they can open up accounts on freelance sites such as upwork.com and look for translation jobs there. I just recently searched upwork.com for translation jobs and I personally found quite a few. Here are some other freelance sites that are worth checking out:
elance.com
freelancer.com
The key to success with these freelance sites is to create a good profile that highlights your experience. One thing that can be a negative with these freelance sites is that you are bidding against other translators. If someone else offers the same service at a lower cost, it means that you may not get the job.

Job Boards

Last, but not least, there are the job boards. These are sites that post jobs in general. Many of these job sites also have translation job postings. Some of these translation jobs can even be full-time with just one company. Here are some job board sites that I've found translation jobs on:
indeed.com
simplyhired.com
careerbuilder.com
With these job board sites, you look for available jobs and you apply for them just like any other job.

Tips

When you are applying or bidding on translation jobs, be as professional as possible. When you do receive a job, make sure you finish it by the given deadline. When working online as a translator, most times you will be translating text material. When translating text material, you need to read accurately so you can write the translation accurately using correct grammar and spelling.

How to Be Productive Working from Home by 300%+

use their time wisely. They have no idea how to be productive working from home.
Usually, they waste 90% of their day researching, checking emails, surfing Facebook, reading the news, browsing Twitter, connecting on LinkedIn and so on...
Although they think they’re working the whole day, in reality, they’re not getting any closer to their goals.
In my opinion, an unproductive use of time is another crucial reason why 99% of all people fail in the online world.
That’s why I though I’d bring you some of my wining productivity tips. They may not work for you so well, but my work capacity increased 300% since I started using them.
Just think about it for a second. What if you could improve your productivity by 300%? It would be like cloning yourself trice.
So take these tips seriously. Please don’t think about them as „self help BS” (as I used to).
Applied wisely, they can help you succeed years sooner and for thousands of dollars cheaper.

Productivity Tip 1 - Don’t check your emails (or stats) every hour

This was the biggest mistake I ever made. I used to check my emails and website statistics literally 30 or even 40 times a day.
Like most people, whenever I turned on the computer, I went to Gmail to see whether there was anything new in my inbox or to Google Analytics to see my visitors, rankings etc...
Usually, there wasn’t anything important. However, it was just enough distraction to waste hours of my precious time.
Since you’re probably walking in the same shoes (I’ve never met anyone who wasn’t dealing with this problem) I thought I’d let you know the solution I found.
I made a rule to check my email and only once a day, strictly after 22:00. Before that, I don’t have access to my account. No matter what happens, I keep myself from checking it.
Also, I made a rule to check my statistics only once a week, on Saturday evening.
This tip alone has saved me more than 200 hours already. If every hour of my time is worth a hundred bucks, I’ve already saved $20.000 thanks to this tip alone.
Is that amount enough to inspire you?

Productivity Tip 2 - Turn Facebook Off

Although I’ve never been logged in to Facebook 24/7, I know many people use it like that.
Let me warn you, you’re wasting your time.
Facebook is much like your email account, only a lot worse. Whenever you sing in, you’re guaranteed to check out the latest posts on your wall. Before you know it, you wasted an hour doing nothing.
Again, I promised myself not to go to Facebook before 22:00 on any day (including weekends).
Which is more important? Browsing silly updates and posts or working on your future and independence?
This proved to be another extremely helpful tip in my experience.

Productivity Tip 3 - Use Your Computer Only When You Work

This is a huge tip. Unfortunately, it’s quite hard to master, but it’s worth it, I promise.
Unlike a few years ago, nowadays I only turn on my computer when I know exactly what I’m planning to do. I never use it just for the sake of it, or just as a habit.
If I don’t have anything to work on, I forget about it all together. I go and spend time doing something completely different, usually outdoors. I don’t even watch YouTube videos or movies on it anymore.
The only time I allow myself to use my PC even for entertainment is - you guessed it - after 22:00 every day, including weekends.
Not only will this tip save you dozens of hours in the future, it will also massively improve your quality of life. You’ll no longer be a computer “addict”.
It worked for me surprisingly well.

Productivity Tip 4 - Use a Private and a Business Computer

If "Tip 3" is too hard for you to keep, I suggest you get another computer to solve the problem.
If you have both your personal and work related stuff on the same PC, it can be extremely hard to differentiate the working hours from relaxing hours.
However, if you have a computer you only use for work, and another one that’s only for your private life (watching family photos, booking hotel rooms and so on), it’s a lot easier to stop yourself from
1, wasting work-time when you’re not supposed to or 2, ruining your life because of working too much.
Getting a separate computer lets you track your daily routine lot more easily.

Productivity Tip 5 - Take Physical Exercises

As strange as it seems, doing exercises (ex.: a few push-ups or going for a walk) can give you huge efficiency boosts. It's a great way to stay in shape and learn how to be productive.
It’s also a great way to let out the steam and clear your head from time to time. After exercising, you’ll be able to return to your desktop with a clearer mind, more prepared and ready to tackle the next tasks.
As you can see, not only is it a lot healthier if you do a little training every week, it will also help you improve the quality of your work.

Productivity Tip 6 - Take Occasional Rests

Don’t stress yourself out. It won’t do any good if you force yourself to work all day long.
There’s nothing wrong with taking 15 or even 30 minute rests every other hour.
Remember, you’re not a slave to yourself. Make sure you’re relaxed and fresh throughout the day. Your productivity (and your work quality) will thank you for it several times.

Productivity Tip 7 - Treat it as a Normal Job

Although working from home has its own beauty, don’t take it any less seriously than a 9 to 5 job.
Do get up early in the morning (possibly before 9 am), have breakfast and take a shower. Also, if there’s one way, don’t work in your PJs.
Just because you’re working from home you don’t have to act like it’s not a real job. You are working and your job is very serious.
In fact, I’d be quite offended if you treated my advice as some low-class, zero-priority information. I take working online very seriously and I want you to do so as well (for your own benefits).
With this correct mindset in place, you’ll find it a lot easier to do a great job, meet your deadlines and reach your goals consistently.

My Advice on How to Be Productive in General

  •  Make sure you try at least some of these productivity tips to see how they’re working for you. I can’t guarantee specific results, but there’s a high chance you’ll do 200% or even 300% more work every day by using them.
  •  Don’t think you’re limited to these tips alone. With a little tweaking, you can come up with a unique way that’s working exclusively for you. Remember, it’s your success at stake. Do your own experiments.

How to create and profit from your facebook fan page

A Facebook fan page is more than just another way to connect with prospects and customers online. Your Facebook fan page can:
• Drive more traffic to your website
• Build your email list
• Sell more products/services
• Announce special offers and promotions
• Announce events
• Share news
• Provide value to your prospects and customers
• Share photos and videos
• Get feedback from clients and prospects
• Improve your relationships with your prospects and customers
• Improve Search Engine Optimization
Additionally:
• Facebook fan pages are public
• You can communicate directly with your “fans”.
• When a person joins your fan page, it’s published in their News feed – this gives
a viral quality to your fan page.
• You have access to more than 500 million active users who log onto Facebook
regularly and spend an average of 55 minutes per day on the site.
• Facebook is now the 2nd most visited site in the world after Google
• And Facebook fan pages are free!
Plain and simple, Facebook offers a huge potential to profit and grow your business.
This article  walks you through the five steps required to create and profit from a Facebook fan page. The steps is :

Step 1:Define Your Facebook Page’s Goals and Purpose

It’s a simple question. “What do you want to accomplish with your Facebook page?”
Yet the answer isn’t always so simple. Ultimately you likely want to use your Facebook page to make more money and grow your business. But there are many ways to accomplish that and may directions to take. Perhaps a better question is, “How do you want to use your Facebook page to grow your business?”
Don’t worry, you’re not expected to know the answer right now. However, before you begin creating your fan page it’s important to have a direction – to have goals.
As mentioned in the introduction there are several things your Facebook fan page can accomplish. They include but are not limited to:
• Traffic generation
• List building
• Selling products/services
• Announcements and promotions
• Content and value
• Building a community/strengthening relationship
In fact, Syncapse.com surveyed 4,000 people who “Liked” the top 20 brands with Facebook pages. They found that someone who has “Liked” a brand spends an average of $71.84 more each year on that brand’s products or services.

Step 2: Identify and Research Your Audience

Okay, you’ve brainstormed your Facebook fan page goals and you’re anxious to get started planning and creating your page. Wait, not so fast!
Before you create your page you want to make sure your audience is represented on Facebook. You want to make sure you’re planning and creating a page that will generate the profits you desire.
One great place to start might be the collection of data published by iStrategyLabs, collected from Facebook’s Social Ads Platform. http://www.istrategylabs.com/wpcontent/ uploads/2010/01/facebook_demographics_chart_statistics_2010.png
However, that chart and other charts found online don’t tell the whole story. Often the best way to see if your audience is well represented on Facebook is to log on and start browsing. Search for friends by interest. Look at other pages that are relevant to your industry.
You can also go through the motions of creating a Facebook ad. You’ll be asked to choose demographics for your ad. This can show you how many people your ad might reach. This is likely your potential audience for your fan page as well. (In fact, later, once your page has been created, you can create an ad to promote your fan page.)
Take a few minutes to jot down who your audience is for your fan page. Then spend some time on Facebook making sure that they’re present and that your efforts will be profitable.

Step 3: Plan Your Facebook Page

Once you know your goals for your Facebook page and you’re comfortable that you have an audience, it’s time to get into the fun stuff – planning your Facebook page.
What tabs do you want on your Facebook page?
You can create a number of tabs. Each one will be designed to help you achieve your goals.
For example, a Welcome tab is a common choice for any successful Facebook page.
You can adjust your settings so that’s the first page anyone sees when they come to your Facebook page.
Other options include:
• Video
• Opt In tab
• Product tab
• Questionnaire/Survey tab
• Information tab
Here’s the fan page for Coca Cola

Notice that Coke also has a video along with a link to their other social networking sites.
Connecting multiple social platforms can help funnel prospects and customers throughout your community. It can forge a stronger connection and grow your audience.
Consider the other social networking sites you use and how they might fit into your overall Facebook goals.
Below you’ll see some other items on Coke’s Facebook page. It includes links to their products, contact information, and links to other Coke communities and initiatives.

Additionally, if you click on the side tab on the top bar of Coke’s page you’ll see a long menu list of pages, applications and tools people can visit.
Notice that everything on the Coke page is designed to provide value to visitors.
As you’re planning your Facebook fan page, consider what content you can offer that will provide the most value to your prospects and visitors.
Provide content that:
• Is relevant to your industry
• Is insightful or entertaining
• Motivates people to interact, comment and take action.

Add tabs that offer value to your prospects and customers. For example, if you’re a professional coach you might have a tab that offers assessments and quizzes.
If you’re an information marketer, perhaps one tab will be dedicated to “reviews.”
Contests and sweepstakes are also a great way to motivate people to participate on your page and become part of your community.
Create an outline for your Facebook page. Include all of the tabs you’re going to have on your page. Note that you don’t have to create all of them before you launch. Part of creating an engaging page is adding content and that includes adding new tabs as your page grows and evolves.
Start with a plan for what you want to launch your page with. Make sure your page and subsequent tabs support your goals. For example, if your goal is to build your list you’ll likely want:
1. Welcome page with an opt-in form
2. Info/About page
Once you have your plan, it’s time to get on Facebook and start the creation process.

Step 4: Create Your Facebook Page

Before you create your first page, you need to understand the difference between a business account and personal account and the when and why’s of both.
Facebook allows (and encourages) 1 personal account for all your personal stuff (“real life” friends) and 1 business account to manage all your business activity.
The critical difference is that your business account doesn’t have a “profile” associated with it (i.e. the Wall, Photos, etc) and can’t have friends. It’s JUST an “admin” account used to administer Pages and Facebook Ads.
When you log into the business account you setup, you’ll go straight to the “business dashboard” instead of the regular Facebook homepage that you’re used to (the page that shows you your friends’ activity)
You DEFINITELY don’t want to have more than 1 personal account (i.e. personal profiles with friends, photos, etc)
There are 2 particular benefits of having a business AND personal account:
1. It keeps your business and personal activities separate – so if something happens to your personal account (e.g. it gets compromised or gets suspended) then your business activity is unaffected (and vice versa).
2. It allows you to give access to another member of your team without them having access to all your personal stuff (friends, private messages, etc).

IDEAL SOLUTION:

What I would recommend is setting up your Facebook Page using a business account, and then adding your personal account as an “admin” so that you can easily administer the page without having to log in and out all the time. This is the best way to do it because you can’t add a business account as an admin later (because they’re not “people” there’s no way to add them!)

ALTERNATIVE:

If you already have well-established Pages setup with your personal account then you can’t separate them out into a new business account (you should do this for future Pages, though)
You definitely SHOULDN’T set up a new PERSONAL account to manage your Facebook Pages. For safety, I would recommend adding 1 or 2 other trusted people (friends, colleagues or staff members) as admins of your Page. Otherwise if something happens to your personal account, you will lose access to your Facebook Page.
Visit- http://www.facebook.com/pages/create.php and enter your log in information in the upper right hand corner.

As seen in the screenshot, you’ll be asked to choose a category for your Facebook page. You’ll also be asked to enter your page Name. Experts strongly recommend using your name, not the name of your business. This is because people are looking to connect with other people on Facebook, not companies.
Once you have created your Facebook fan page, you will need to add photos and information in order
to make it a page that Facebook users will want to visit again and again.

Again, use your own photo rather than a logo or business graphic.
In the screenshot you’ll also notice a red arrow pointing to a +. When you click on the plus symbol you can add a new tab to your page.
You’ve already planned your page, so this step should be fairly straightforward. Simply add the tabs you’ve planned. You can play with the wording and the copy on the page.
It’s all a draft and not “live” until you publish it.
To add a welcome tab, click on the plus symbol and search for “Welcome” in the drop down menu.
Once your page is ready to go, it’s time to publish your page. Your Facebook fan page is not yet live until you click the "Publish this Page" link. You can edit your page at any time by simply clicking “edit page”.
**It should also be noted that you can outsource this project to a professional or a service. There are a number of social media and Facebook experts that create custom fan pages to help you achieve your profit goals.

Step 5: Maintain Your Facebook Page – A Long Term Plan

Your work isn’t done once you’ve launched your page. You will have three primary functions to make your Facebook page a profitable success.
Network and Connect
You’re going to want to let people know you have a Facebook fan page. Share links from your fan page on your profile. Invite friends, prospects and connections to become fans.
Consider hosting contests and promotions to drive traffic to your Facebook page.
Promote your Facebook page on your email signature, on your homepage, and in other social networks that you’re a part of. Integrate your fan page into your existing marketing tactics and strategy.
Consistently Add Value and Content
The best way to generate and maintain interest in your page is to consistently add fresh and valuable content. Post links, create discussions, publish pictures and content. Post surveys and have fun with applications.
Don’t forget to also publish promotions and special offers. Get creative and generate excitement for your page and your business.
Study Your Results
Finally, it’s important to stay on top of your page to ensure it is meeting your goals.
Facebook provides a wealth of information to help you stay informed. You can analyze:
• The number of interactions you have had with fans each day or week.
• The number of comments you had on your posts.
• The demographics of your fans
• The tabs, content, or applications that receive the most interest and interaction
And of course you can and should track your success. If your goal was to build your lead list, are your efforts helping you achieve your goal? If your goal is to send traffic to your website sales page, what’s your click through rate? How many of those clicks are converting?
Create a plan to:
1. Network and spread the word about your fan page
2. Consistently add value and content to your Facebook fan page (Consider hiring an administrative assistant to manage your page.)
3. Analyze the results and build on your success.

Conclusion

Facebook fan pages are an exceptional tool to achieve a number of business building goals. Whether you’re driving traffic to your website, building your lead list or actually selling products or services on your page, the end result is a boost in profits.
Create your goals, research your audience, plan and create your page to support your goals. Once your page has been published, create a long-term plan to maintain it by consistently adding valuable content, networking with users and fans and tracking results. Profits will naturally result from your dedicated efforts.

It is responsible in providing the technology to deliver the merchant’s offers and campaigns. The affiliate network also do the job of collecting commission fees from the merchant and giving it to the affiliates involved in the program.

Among the secrets to become successful in affiliate marketing is to come up with good content based website and put your affiliate links in all your content. Your main purpose here is to give your visitors good quality content about the things they are interested in. Set aside the job of selling. It must be done by the sales letter page you are transferring them to. Promote multiple affiliate programs in your website but don’t promote everything the world has to offer. Just choose the affiliate programs that fit your site and focus on it. Then, it is advisable to automate the whole process, giving you more time for other ventures. Yes, you’ve read it right! Automation is another key to become a super affiliate. Of course, you have to spend more time in reading, learning and taking up the changes in affiliate marketing business.

Through this, you’ll remain on top of the trends. If you are knowledgeable with online marketing, you’ll understand how important it is to stay up-to-date. In this kind of business, what worked and what was accepted few months ago may not work at present. So always see to it that you know what’s new in affiliate marketing everyday. It’s really hard to be a Clickbank super affiliate, but you shouldn’t say NO to the thought of giving up. Bear in mind that in affiliate marketing business, you need to develop persistence, patience and knowledge. These traits will teach you to carry on no matter how tough the job is. Also, check your statistics. This will help you find out what is working and what is not. Make necessary changes if needed but do it one at a time and be patient. Don’t forget that in affiliate marketing, everything won’t take place overnight. And it will not happen without blood, sweat and hefty time commitment.
Again, just encompass patience, persistence and knowledge; then do above mentioned tactics. Before you recognize it, you will start gaining profits. Believe me, the fruits of all your efforts here in affiliate marketing will be way too sweet.

5 Steps to Making Money With Google AdSense

Making money with Google AdSense is the most popular way to make money online.
Millions of individual website owners and bloggers use it as their number-one income source.
Here’s their official website: http://adsense.google.com/
However, Google AdSense is not a cash cow or a get rich quick opportunity: you can either make as much as thousands of dollars per week, or only a few bucks a month.
Most folks think that all you have to do is install Google AdSense and watch the money roll in. It hits them as a surprise that there is more to running a successful Google AdSense business model.
So that’s why I’m writing this guide: to show you how you can belong to the wealthier category and use Google AdSense like a pro.

Step 1: Attract Targeted Traffic to Your Site... and Loads of It!

Without LOADS OF traffic, Google AdSense is merely Google AdCents (sorry, I couldn’t resist the pun).
Why? Here’s an example:
A 5% conversion rate (CR) and a CPC (cost per click) value of $2 is considered better than average in the AdSense publishers’ world. Let’s do a little math to find out what this means: for instance, first let’s see how much traffic you have to receive to make $1.000 a month in these - better than average! – circumstances?
Here’s the equation that will answer our question (I’m sorry if you’re not a number-person).
TRAFFIC * Conversion Rate * Cost Per Click=$1.000
TRAFFICx0.05X$1=$1.000 (I calculated with $1 since you get only half of the CPC value,
Google takes the other half).
Traffic=20,000
As you can see, you need to attract 20,000 unique visitors a month to make $1.000!
That’s more than 600 unique visitors for every day! And we’re talking about targeted visitors who are interested in the topic of your content. So you can’t use a “traffic generation company” that will send you 100.000 visitors for $5.
So the first thing is learning how to build a website or blog that will bring you these kinds of numbers. But don’t worry, the solution is within your reach.
This is a free eBook I’ve written on how you can start making serious money with Google AdSense (and other monetization models) the quickest and cheapest way.
Until you read it or learn from somewhere else how to increase internet traffic or make money with content marketing, you won’t succeed at Google AdSense. Period...

Step 2: Learn How to Properly Install Google AdSense on Your Site

Once you’ve got the traffic, your job is 70% done.
Even setting up Google AdSense is easier than you think. All you have to do is follow the instructions below and you’ll be able to do it in less than 10 minutes.

Step 3: Choose the Best Placement for Your Ads

The next obstacle you have to overcome is choosing the most profitable placement and style for your ads. Sure, you’ll make money even if you just randomly select how and where to put AdSense ads on your site.
However, your conversion rate and income can vary literally by 200-300% based on how you set up AdSense.
One of the most important things is choosing the right AdSense placement (i.e.: the layout of your ad blocks), about which you can learn a lot more below.

Step 4: Implement the Best Google AdSense Strategies to Maximize Your Income

The other half of maximizing your AdSense revenue is using the most effective Google AdSense strategies

  •  How to design your ads
  •  How to block your competitors from stealing your traffic
  •  How to get the highest bids (and income) for your ad units
  •  And so on...

Fortunately, you can get even these all-important strategies by going through this guide.

Step 5: Diversify Your Income Stream with Google AdSense Alternatives

Finally (and ironically) the last step to successfully making money with Google AdSense is finding alternatives to it.
You see, Google looks like an honest company only on the outside. Their mantra “Don’t be evil.” is only empty words.
They can - and do - suspend publishers’ AdSense accounts without any warning even if they play 100% by Google’s policy.
And once you get your account suspended, you’ll probably never get it back: all the effort you put into making money with Google AdSense will go down the drain.
So that’s why it’s important to prepare for the worst case scenario and find the best Google AdSense alternatives later in this book. They will quickly get you back on your feet even if this unfortunate event happens.

Top 10 Evergreen Keyword Optimization Tips

What are keyword optimization tips and why should you learn about them?
Definition of Keyword Optimization...
“Keyword optimization is the process of optimizing a website to rank highly at the search
engines for a specific keyword or keyword phrase.”
Keyword optimization has both an “on-page” and an “off-page” segment.
The on-page part consists of putting your specific keyword at certain places of your webpages to make the SEO see what these pages are all about. As a result, when people type these specific keyword into the search engines, SEO will send some of these visitors to your optimized pages.
Off-page keyword optimization is process of getting links from other websites pointing to your site. It’s the best way to let the SEs know your site is valuable enough for other webmasters to link to it, thus it deserves higher rankings and more traffic.
The combination of on-page and off-page keyword optimization is commonly referred to as SEO or Search Engine Optimization.
Now I’d like to tell you EVERYTHING you need to know about onpage SEO (we’ll cover off-page SEO in a later chapter).
I promise to follow the 80-20 rule: no fluff, only what matters.

Step 0: Perform Thorough Keyword Research
The importance of keyword research is huge. You don’t want to optimize your pages for too
broad keywords. The broader a keyword is, the more competition it has. You want to target
keywords that you actually have a chance winning.
That’s why I put so much emphasis on conducting proper keyword research in the previous
steps. Whether you used Google’s free keyword research tool or Market Samurai (hopefully
you used MS for better results), you probably have a list of 100-150 low-supply, highdemand,
„golden nugget” keywords.
Now your job is to write content pages for each of these specific keywords from your list.
WARNING: Before we start talking about the most powerful keyword optimization tips, let
me warn you.
Quality content is still the most important factor. Simply optimizing your pages is not
enough. No matter how many visitors you receive, if your content sucks, no one will buy from
you. Then what’s the point of wasting your time and money?
Remember: quality content rules the web. Always focus on quality over quantity. The web
already has enough low-class articles.
Note: I’m going to use the "scuba dicing" niche as an example to help you.

Top 10 Keyword Optimization Tips Checklist

1 - Page URL

  •  Make sure to include your specific keyword in your page’s URL.
  •  If your specific keyword consists of more than one keyword, use dashes to separate them. I suggest you avoid underscores.
  •  Make sure your specific keyword comes right after the domain name.
  •  Don’t include any words in your URL other than your specific keyword phrase.
  •  Use small letters only, avoid capital letters.

BAD EXAMPLE

2 - Page Title

  •  The title is what people first see when they search at Google. Make sure it’s engaging enough for your readers to click on it.

  •  Put your keyword as close to the title’s beginning as possible.
  •  Include your keyword in the title once, maximum twice. Avoid keyword stuffing.
  •  Keep it under 80 characters
  •  Capitalize the first letters of your title’s words.
  •  Do NOT make it ALL CAPS.

GOOD EXAMPLE
Is Your Current Scuba Diving Equipment a Lurking Threat to Your Life?
BAD EXAMPLE
Click here SCUBA DIVING, SCUBA DIVING EQUIPMENT, find SCUBA DIVERS, PADI, scuba diving resource, scuba diving advisor, etc...
(Would you click on a listing like this? You wouldn’t believe how many webmasters still think this is the best way to go...)
3 - Meta Keywords Box

  •  Include your specific keyword in the meta keywords tag of your page.
  •  Make sure you start the list with your specific keyword.
  •  Don’t use more than 5 keywords in the meta keywords section.
  •  Your specific keyword shouldn’t be longer than 5 words. Still, human judgment rules. If a 6 or 7 word keyword phrase makes sense, feel free to use it.
  •  Never repeat your keyword in the meta keywords section.

GOOD EXAMPLE
scuba diving equipment, scuba diving tools, scuba diving gear
BAD EXAMPLE
scuba diving equipment, scuba diving equipments, scuba, diving, padi, scuba diving tools, equipment for scuba diving, please, rank, me, for, this, keyword
4 - Page Description

  •  Write an engaging description that gets the click.

  •  Include your keyword in your page’s description.
  •  Don’t repeat your page title. It’s a waste of valuable “keyword real estate”.
  •  Include your keyword only once, maximum twice.
  •  Feel free to use synonyms in your description.
  •  Make your description less than 200 characters.

GOOD EXAMPLE
Do you own all the scuba diving equipment vital for under-water survival? Discover whether your current scuba diving tools are good enough and find special discounts inside.
BAD EXAMPLE
Click here to read SCUBA DIVING EQUIPMENT, SCUBA DIVING TOOLS, TOOLS FOR
SCUBA DIVING AND BEST SCUBA DIVING EQUIPMENT, learn to scuba dive, how to learn diving, please give me your money for my worthless content etc...
(Again, you wouldn’t believe how many webmasters use this “tactic” in the 21st century.)
4 - Main Headline

  •  Always start your pages with an introductory headline.
  •  Include your specific keyword in the headline once, maximum twice.
  •  Start the first letters of your words with capital letters.
  •  Make it interesting enough for people to read the whole article.
  •  Have fun with it.

GOOD EXAMPLE
Scuba Diving Equipment that Could Save Your Life
BAD EXAMPLE
Read this article about scuba diving (Who cares? I’ll just click away.)
5 - Page Length
Write at least 400 words of content on every page. If you write shorter pages, search engines will less likely take them seriously enough to rank them well. Hey, if you know and love your topic, writing about it shouldn’t be a problem.
6 - Beginning of Articles
Include your specific keyword in the first 90 visible characters on your page. If you mention it too late, search engines may think your page isn’t related to “scuba diving equipment” after all.
7 - Keyword Density
Don’t stress too much about keyword density. Keyword density is calculated as “number of keywords mentioned” divided by the “number of all words”.
Generally, I recommend you keep your keyword density at 3-5%. Going above 5% may cause the SEs to think you’re manipulating them. If you don’t want to get a ranking penalty, I suggest you keep yourself to the 3-5% guideline.

8 - Synonyms and Related Terms
Instead of keyword stuffing, make sure you use enough synonyms and keyword related terms.
For example, I could use scuba diving tools, scuba diving apparel and snorkeling equipment to show Google I talk about these topics as well.
9 - Text Link
Include your specific keyword at least in one text link on your page. It can be a link to another page, a link to another site, a link to an affiliate merchant or whatever…
Make sure you don’t abuse this system, however. Again, two times is the maximum. Don’t put three or more links on the same page that contain your specific keyword. It might look unnatural and suspicious to the search engines.
TIP: As I already told you in the Website Structure section, the best way to get this keyword optimization tip always right is to put a “Return to Homepage link” at the bottom of all your pages.

GOOD EXAMPLE (at the end of an article)
Return from Scuba Diving Equipment to HomePage
BAD EXAMPLE (at the end of article)
Return to Homepage (no keyword included)
10 - Images
If you’re using images as part of your content (and you should) make sure you optimize them as well. The best way to optimize your images is to name them your specific keyword.
For example, if I wanted to upload a photo of the best scuba diving equipment, I’d first save the photo as scuba-diving-equipment.jpg before uploading it to my site.
Using this tip will probably give you some trickles of image traffic from Google. Especially if you have a niche where image searches are popular (ex.: a travel site). Trust me, every little adds up.

Summary of Keyword Optimization Tips

  •  Keyword optimization starts with choosing the right keywords. Use either Google’s Keyword Research Tool or Market Samurai to find high-demand, low-competition keywords to target. Generally, Market Samurai will return better results and let you succeed a lot quicker.
  •  Quality content is still the most important factor of all keyword optimization tips. If you don’t have high-value, original content that can’t be found elsewhere, don’t expect keyword optimization or SEO to solve your problems.
  •  Include your specific keyword once (or twice) in the following places: page URL, page title, description, meta keywords tag, headline and a text link.
  •  Shoot for a keyword density of 3-5%. Try not to go overboard.
  •  Write at least 400 words of content for all your pages.
  •  Include your specific keyword in the first 90 visible characters of your content.
  •  Use synonyms and related terms to sprinkle them a couple times thorough your article.
  •  Optimize your images as well. Before uploading a graphic, name it your-specifickeyword. jpg first.
